Our Imperfect Journey
Do you ever look back at things that you’ve done in your life and wonder, “what was I thinking, how could I have possibly done that”?
All of us are on a journey. As we travel along our path of life we are certain to learn and grow from our experiences. When we look back at the things we’ve done sometimes we are embarrassed, or maybe even ashamed. We might tend to overlook our mistakes and pretend they didn’t happen.
We can’t erase our past. The things that we’ve done are still with us- good and bad. While we must move forward to grow, our past is part of who we are.
We grow by acknowledging our missteps and by changing our behavior. We also need to accept our past as part of our journey to be molded into the image of Christ.
We mature as we step forward, but we never really leave those experiences behind. They stay a part of who we are as we continue to travel into new chapters of our lives. They are our testimony.
The bible is full of stories of broken saints who made poor decisions or did bad things. These were the people whom God chose to pursue, forgive and adopt. These saint's stories are the candles He set on a hill to encourage and light the path for others along the way.
Consider your journey and realize that God never changes.
You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Matthew 5:14
