Acts Bible Verse Art

The story of the church, still being written.

Acts is Luke's second book: the Spirit falls, the gospel runs from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth, and ordinary people receive power. 9 original paintings from Acts are available today, including Acts 1:8 Receive Power, Acts 10:43 Your Sins Are Forgiven, and Acts 18:10 I Am With You.

About the Book of Acts

Acts picks up where the Gospels end. Jesus ascends, the Spirit falls at Pentecost, and a room full of frightened disciples becomes a movement nothing could stop. Luke, the careful physician, wrote it all down: Peter's sermons, Stephen's courage, Philip on the desert road, and Paul carried from Damascus to Rome.

Its promises still launch people. Ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you. Whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. And to a discouraged Paul in Corinth, the Lord's own midnight word: I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee.

Mark Lawrence paints Acts for new believers and bold ones, because the book of beginnings has never stopped beginning.

Questions people ask

What does Acts 1:8 mean? Jesus' last promise before ascending: ye shall receive power, and ye shall be witnesses unto me. Receive Power hangs where people pray before stepping out into something bigger than themselves.

Which Acts painting suits a baptism? Acts 2:38 Receive The Gift!, Peter's Pentecost invitation, and Acts 10:43 Your Sins Are Forgiven, one of the most given paintings in the gallery.

What is life's most important question? The Philippian jailer asked it in Acts 16:30: what must I do to be saved? The painting keeps the question, and its answer, in the room.

“For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee.” Acts 18:10
