A Call for Courage

A Call for Courage

In these challenging times, when uncertainty looms large and fear threatens to overtake us, we are reminded of a powerful truth: we are never alone. The Psalmist declared,

"The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?" (Psalm 27:1). These words are a beacon of hope, reminding us that our courage does not come from our strength but from the presence of Almighty God.

As we walk this journey of faith, God calls us to a life of trust. "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you" (Deuteronomy 31:6).

These are not just words but a promise from the One who holds our future. He goes before us, walks beside us, and guards our path. Our journey of trust is anchored in His unchanging character.
The Apostle Paul reminds us in his letter to Timothy,

"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7). We are called to be fearless, not because we are immune to fear, but because we have been given the power to overcome it. This courage is not of our own making; it is a gift from God, nurtured by His Spirit within us.

When fear grips your heart, remember the words of Isaiah: "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand" (Isaiah 41:10). These words remind us that God’s presence is our strength. He is not distant or uninvolved; He is with us, guiding us, and sustaining us.

And finally, as Joshua stood on the brink of the Promised Land, God spoke these timeless words to him,

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go" (Joshua 1:9). We, too, are called to this same courage. Whatever challenges lie ahead, we face them with confidence, knowing that we are never alone.

In every trial and every triumph, take heart. God is with you. He is your courage, your strength, and your ever-present help. Step forward in faith, trusting that He who has called you will never leave you!
