Our Newness of Life in Jesus Christ
Dear friends, in times of discouragement and despair it is easy to feel overwhelmed and defeated by the weight of our circumstances. I want to remind you today of the beautiful promise we have in Jesus Christ: the promise of Newness of Life. This is not just a fleeting hope or a temporary fix but a profound transformation that begins the moment we accept Christ into our hearts. Let us explore this truth together and be uplifted by the power of His word and the inspiring beauty of art that captures these promises.
The Apostle Paul, in Romans 6:4, tells us,
"We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life."
This verse assures us that our old selves, burdened with sin and sorrow, have been buried with Christ. In His resurrection, we too are raised to walk in newness of life. The artwork titled "Newness of Life" seeks to encapsulate this truth. The vibrant colors and upward movement in the painting remind us that through Christ, we are given a fresh start every day, a new beginning filled with hope and divine purpose from our adoring Heavenly Father.
Jesus Himself spoke of this transformation when He said in John 3:3,
"Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again."
This rebirth is not merely a change of behavior but a complete renewal of our inner being. The painting "Born Again" reflects this spiritual rebirth with a washing of color, light and life, symbolizing the profound new heavenly life that now co-resides eternally within us. It serves as a visual reminder that in Christ, we are made wonderfully new, and our past no longer defines us. We are eternally children of the Lord.
Moreover, Paul exhorts us in Ephesians 4:22-24 to
"put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness."
This call to transformation is powerfully illustrated in the artwork "Transformed in Truth." The movement and splashing of colors in the painting reflects the ongoing process of sanctification, where we wash away our old ways and embrace our new identity in Christ. This transformation is not an overnight event but a daily renewal as we align our hearts and minds with God's truth.
Lastly, Titus 3:5 reminds us that,
"He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit."
The painting "Renewed By Jesus" seeks to capture the essence of this verse, portraying the gentle and yet powerful work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. It is a reminder that our renewal is not by our strength but by the mercy and grace of God flowing from His kingdom. This renewal brings peace, joy, and a sense of purpose that can only come from Him.
Dear friends, as you meditate on these scriptures and contemplate this art, let your hearts be encouraged. Remember that in Christ, you are a new creation. The old has gone, and the new is here!
Embrace this Newness of Life with faith and confidence, knowing that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion. Let these truths and images fill you with hope and renew your spirit today and every day.
Blessings to you all,
