Be An Encourager

Encouragement is the action of giving someone support, confidence, or hope. Let’s be ready to bless others with the same encouragement that we have received through God’s Word.

I long to visit you so I can bring you some spiritual gift that will help you grow strong in the Lord. When we get together, I want to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours. Romans 1:11-12 (NLT)

Understand the Kingdom-impact that we can have by being an encourager to others. Every day we interact with people who are discouraged. Marriages are hurting, children or family members are lost, health problems are overwhelming and financial issues seem hopeless. We all experience these seasons of life.

God is in Control and He Has A Plan

See these interactions with others as God-appointed. Listen and grieve with those who are hurting. Then use the conversation as a “let’s pray” moment. True hope and strength comes from growing strong in the Lord. Ask them to think of one thing in their life that we can be thankful for. When they reply say,

“Let’s pray. Father, thank you for Your blessings in our lives. Help us to remember Your faithfulness continually as You bear our daily burdens. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Be a ray of light! Pray with those who are hurting to seek and trust God’s power working in their lives. Then watch how God honors the request.

A Prayer

Father God, Thank you for Your precious Word in my life. Help me to share Your love and hope. Use me to speak words of encouragement that will draw others to Your Kingdom, in Your Power for Your Glory. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
